Getting paid for ignorance
Jason Whitlock is an ill-informed dick. There, I said it.
In addition to the many OU hatchet jobs he’s published over the years, the gem today serves as a perfect example of both his ill-informed opinions.

I love Tony Crocker and Austin Johnson’s experience and athleticism.
OK, that’s just flat-out ignorant. TaW has long-documented Crocker’s foibles. “Loving” Tony Crocker blows away any semblance of credibility you may have.

You’re fairly ill-informed, Jason. For example, watch OU when they come out of timeouts and run a set back-pick play to free up Blake underneath the basket for an easy 2. See what I did there, Jason? “Free up” Griffin. That’s what they do.

Jeff Capel simply cannot coach.
Now you’re just being a dick. Capel has taken a team that was left for dead and has them as one of the favorites for a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament just three years later. Sure, he’s doing it with a bonafide superstar, but as we’ve seen the last couple of weeks, it takes more than one collegiate hall of famer to make a complete team. Surround Blake with four “nice to have role players,” and OU’s a “pretty good” team this year. Surround him with some athletic, talented selfish players and OU implodes. Take those athletic, talented players and turn them into “they know their role” players and you have a Final Four contender. That’s coaching, Jason.
