TaW CBS Blogpoll Week 7
As always comments are appreciated and like last week will be integrated into the final ballot

Taw Poll |
Rationale |
| 1. Bama | Still number one. If someone can actually shut down their running game and score some points we might actually see if passing game is a weakness. |
| 2. UF | I’d drop UF after their sleeping walking game with Arkansas. But no one really deserves to be above them. They don’t appear to have the weapons they need on offense to beat Bama right now. |
| 3 UT | I’d love to drop UT, but they are 6-0 and have a clear path to Pasadena unless they choke big time. They don’t appear to have anywhere near the level of offense that they will need to compete with Bama/UF. McCoy is nowhere near the same QB as last year. He was pretty much rattled all game versus OU, and his “biggest” play was making sure that OU didn’t return his pick for what would have been a game winning TD. Defensively UT looked very good, but OU’s offense right now is completely off track. |
| 4. Cincinnati | Went to South Florida and with their backup QB won a key game on the road. Pike’s return will be key, if Cinci wants to run the table. |
| 5. Iowa | Beat Wisconsin in a tough road game (at least by Big Ten standards) they are a win at Columbus away from crashing the BCS title game party. |
| 6. TCU | They just continue to win. Big games coming up. |
| 7. Boise | Looked pretty average against a very average Tulsa team. Their defense is solid, but their offense is not in the same class as years’ past. |
| 8. Miami | Coasting through the easiest part of their schedule. End of season game with USF will be key. |
| 9. Oregon | Just keep winning after their first game embarrassment. |
| 10. USC | Beat ND on the road. Let ND rally back to almost tie the game. |
| 11. Georgia Tech | Option offense claims another victim. ACC may have a huge Big 12 South like 3 way tie embarrassment possibly. |
| 12. Penn State | Beat another bad Big Ten team. Not really good, not really bad. |
| 13. Utah | Rallying from early loss to Oregon |
| 14. Oklahoma State | Beat Mizzou at home. Mizzou’s QB Gabbert looked terrible. Might be the only real roadblock from UT’s undefeated season. |
| 15. LSU | Still very under impressed with this team. I see several more SEC losses in their future. |
| 16. Virginia Tech | Best two loss team in the nation. Not out of ACC race yet. |
| 17. tOSU | Terrell Pryor might need Jeff Fisher to call the cops for him this week. |
| 18. Kansas | Played an awful first half versus CU. Their defense is terrible. Still Reising still almost pulled out this game for the Jayhawks. OU game will determine if they can win the Big 12 North or not. |
| 19. Texas Tech | Two good losses, and just went to Lincoln and embarrassed NU and the best defensive player in America. |
| 20. USF | Lost at home to Cincinnati. Usually this is the time when USF starts to tank. Tough games with WVU and Pitt coming up. |
| 21. Brigham Young | Still winning. Games against Utah and TCU give them a chance to move up. |
| 22. Notre Dame | Ranked for now, mainly due to losing to USC. The Fighting French are not bad, but not great. I still can see them losing 2 or 3 more games. |
| 23. Houston | Win over Tech looks better as does win over OSU. But their loss was just terrible. Will be interesting to see how they play at Tulsa later this year. |
| 24. West Virginia | Only loss is at Auburn. Playing competitive football and have a chance for some good wins. |
| 25. Arizona | Good loss to Iowa, and a criminal screw job by the refs in Seattle. |
Others receiving consideration:
Nebraska: you cannot lose at home to Texas Tech by double digits and not be punished.
South Carolina: Needed to have put up a better fight versus Bama to be ranked.
Oklahoma: Beat KU and I might think about ranking OU. The fact that OU is ranked in the AP poll shows how mediocre the Top 25 is after the top 13 or so.
